Our Beliefs

Mission

Fusion Community Church’s mission is no different than what Jesus Christ commanded His disciples to do in the Great Commission.  “Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28:19-20.)

Vision

It’s simple. Love God. Love People. (Mark 12:30-31) “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”

A Methodist Faith Community

As United Methodists, we are part of a historic 2000-year-old Christian faith, seeking to love God with all that we are and love all people. We seek to build practices of regular worship, prayer, and devotion into our lives, as well as opportunities to regularly reach out to others.

JohnWesley taught his followers: to live lovingly and justly as servants of Christ by healing the sick, feeding the hungry, caring for the stranger, freeing the oppressed; being a compassionate presence, and working to develop social structures that are consistent with the gospel. We will accomplish this not only through Sunday worship services, but also through Fresh Expressions.

Fusion Community Church is not like your run-of-the-mill churches. It’s a new kind of church which is focused not on itself, but on where others are and on serving the world. It’s a training center to grow and mature disciples and leaders to“go and make disciples” in every part of Holmes County and beyond. We want to create a place where those who have never felt comfortable in a church can feel comfortable. We desire to see people grow closer to Jesus and one of the best ways we know how to do that is to serve other people.

We imagine a church completely committed to Jesus. We’re not there yet, but we’re on the way. No matter what you’ve done or who you are, you have a place here.

We believe everyone is welcome to be a part of the Church, and so we strive to take our passion for Christ out into the world. We show our faith through passionate worship, engaging in service, growing together through FreshExpression, and giving of ourselves so that we can let the world know what it really means to be a disciple of Christ

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, The new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”

2 Corinthians 5:17(NIV)

Core Values

To pursue our vision, we focus on four values:

In Christ, we are new

Jesus brings us from death to life

(John 3:16-18; 2 Corinthians 5:17;Ephesians 2:1-10)

In Christ, we are servants

We use our time, talent, and treasure for God

(John 3:16-18; 2 Corinthians 5:17;Ephesians 2:1-10)

In Christ, we are family

We take the time to get to know and encourage each other

(Acts 2:42-47; Hebrews 3:13; Hebrews 10:24-25; 1 John 4:7-12)

In Christ, we are missionaries

We do whatever it takes to reach the one

(Matthew 28:16-20; John 20:21; Luke 15)

Worship

We believe weekly worship is a time when the body of Christ comes together and shares in the love of God. Everyone is welcome to be a part of our worship celebrations! That means no matter your background, whether you grew up in church or have never been to church, you are welcome here. Our worship service is contemporary with some traditional mixed in. We're a very relaxed group of people who just enjoy being together. We don't have a dress code, and we try to make it as easy as possible for you to join in.

Grow

We realize the importance of people continually growing and maturing in their faith. It helps us through the tough times and makes firm our understanding and trust in God. That's why we have many opportunities for people of all ages and stages to grow and mature in their faith and to dive deeper into what it means to be a disciple of Christ. Throughout the week and throughout the county, you can meet up at Fresh Expressions which are designed to connect people right where they are and encourage them to grow deeper in their faith together.

Serve

We continue to follow the lessons John Wesley taught his followers: to live lovingly and justly as servants of Christ by healing the sick, feeding the hungry, caring for the stranger, freeing the oppressed; being a compassionate presence, and working to develop social structures that are consistent with the gospel. We love to serve people to make sure the people of Holmes County, and the people of the world, feel the love of Christ.

Give

We recognize that God gives us everything. Although we deserve nothing,God gave all so we may have all. Therefore, we should give joyfully and honestly to the Lord. He's given us everything, so it is only right that we give our best in return.  At Fusion C.C., we practice this! A church cannot function without the support of its members and so we encourage all members to give. But we also know that the church itself must give. When you stop by for the first time, complete and turn in a connection card, and we give a donation in your name to different groups within the county. Like Kidz Club at the Duncan Theater, Love Inc, the Love Center Food Pantry, or H15 TeenCenter Ministries. This is to remind the community of Christ's love through our gifts.
